Dewalt laser line level was completely useless outdoors due to inability to see the line in sunlight. Bought this detector and level is now usable outdoors. Tested and worked at 125’, haven’t had any need to go any further. Battery that came with it was dead, so that was a bit annoying, and it’s not like this unit is cheap either... the clamp seems a bit low grade but time will tell how it hangs in... prob 1/16” of slop in the connection between detector body and clamp, and considering that the laser level is supposed to be good for 1/8” at 30 ft, this sloppy fit seems a bit lame... however, at least I can use the level outside now.
