A great alternative to Festool at a non-Festool...
Posted by Jeremy Tomlinson on 2023 Jan 12th
It’s no surprise that Festool is about the only company that thinks annual price increases are OK. I certainly don’t. Yes they have a good product but they are not the only game in town. It’s also no surprise that there are alternatives to their dust extractors that don’t get the press they deserve. Well this Fein alternative is significantly less expensive, anytime as well made, same sound / noise readings and maybe even lower and at least the same suction power if not greater. This is my first non-Festool dust extractor with tool activation. I have three CT26’s and now this Fein. I also have a fair size collection of other festool stuff so this is not a cheap slap at Festool. It’s just that I have become done with Festool thinking and acting like they are the only game in town. From now on as I need more of these machines I will buy the Fein Turbo 1. The value is excellent. I might also consider other manufacturers but for now Fein is very fine.

Huge improvement over my old wet/dry...
Posted by Patrick O'Brien on 2022 Aug 22nd
The fact that I can stand to be in my garage workshop when a wet/dry vac is running is amazing to me. The experience has certainly changed now that I have my new Fein Turbo 1 Dust Extractor. Very quiet and yet very powerful. Love the onboard power that allows me to run an associated piece of equipment without the risk of forgetting to turn the Fein on. Coupled with a Dustopper, my shop is a much more pleasant place for me to enjoy my woodworking hobby.

Fein - Turbo I Dust...
Posted by David Pfohl on 2022 Mar 3rd
My primary use for this will be for dust extraction while sanding indoors. And early on it appears to excel at this task. Connection to my Bosch sanders was straightforward. Connection to the Ridgid belt/spindle sander required some fabrication but nothing too difficult. I appreciate the low noise level from the
Fein. My only caveat so far is this: it appears that the dust bag as it fills will be impeded by the filter, so that the bag will need to be replaced before it's full. Otherwise, perfect! -
Works...

I wanted a dust extractor for my sander and track saw so that I could use them indoors in a pinch without making a mess. I read the fine woodworking review of dust extractors and this model got their best value label. It is half to a third of the cost of the industry leading models and I was concerned that I just ordered an overpriced shop vac. Nope it works great even when aggressively sanding with a 6” total style sander. It works so well I don’t see the need to ever upgrade to one of those much higher priced units.
